Alterations are complex builds as you must consider the soundness of the existing structure as well as the complexity of integrating the new structure into the old. There are a lot of structural variables that need to be identified and quantified on the existing structure and the management of the construction is therefore more complex compared to a new build, requiring greater foresight and adaptability.
